Stuart Roosa

Stuart Allen Roosa was an American astronaut who served as the pilot of the Apollo 14 mission to the Moon in 1971. He was born on August 16, 1933 in Durango, Colorado, and later served in the United States Air Force as a test pilot.

Roosa was chosen to be an astronaut in 1966, and flew on the Apollo 14 mission alongside Alan Shepard and Edgar Mitchell. During the mission, Roosa stayed aboard the command module while Shepard and Mitchell conducted experiments and explored the lunar surface.

Roosa died on December 12, 1994 at the age of 61.
